Animal Wednesday: Snug as a bug

Emma's favorite thing is to sleep under warm things like blankets or big sweaters. She finds a spot and then covers herself up. Sometimes she needs a little help to get it just right. After I took this photo I went over and kissed her nose. I'm just crazy about this little girl!

Happy Animal Wednesday!

Emma's Gratitude

Emma hasn't had a nice run on the beach in a long while. I've been busy with patients which has me coming home after dark most nights, so by then Emma has had a short walk with dad. But last night I got home just in time for a walk at sunset. The bonus was that it was low tide so Emma had plenty of space to run and rid the beach of the feathered residents...that's her job! But the sweetest moment was when she paused after her run and faced the sunset in gratitude. I just know she was giving thanks. I taught her well.

A Good Blanket...and a nap!

Blanket is the word for the week over at Illustration Friday. While I decide what it is I want to paint, and until I can find the time, I thought I'd post this picture of Emma and her favorite blanket. She doesn't do mornings! (And she's very grateful for her naps.)

C,mon Mum!!

When Emma and I get back from a walk she's always anxious to go in the house and tell Dad all about it! She's such a crack-up. He's out this morning though, so she ran from room to room looking for him. I'm so grateful for her exuberance and spirited nature, always reminding me to have fun and not to sweat the small stuff. Thanks, Em!
